How to start an engraving project

Good results begin with the right item, accurate information and production time.

  1. 1

Bring the project details. Include the item or product choice, exact wording, names, dates, quantity and event deadline.

  2. 2

Review materials and artwork. We’ll assess the decoration area, method, file quality and whether a proof is appropriate.

  3. 3

Approve and produce. Confirm spelling and layout before production, then choose local pickup or shipping where available.

Engraving questions

What items can Award Masters engrave?

We work with many awards, plaques, gifts and presentation pieces made from wood, metal, glass, crystal, acrylic, plastic, leather and other selected materials. The best method depends on the item, finish and available decoration area.

Can I bring in an item I already own?

Customer-supplied items may be considered after inspection and approval. Some materials, coatings, shapes or assembled products are not suitable for our equipment, so approval is required before we accept the project.

How long does engraving take?

Standard personalized orders typically require 4–5 business days after details and artwork are approved. Larger or more complex orders may require 7–10 business days, and special-order products need additional time. Share your event date before ordering so timing can be confirmed.

Is there a minimum quantity?

Many projects can be completed as a single item. A minimum engraving or service charge may apply, depending on the setup and personalization required.

Will I review the layout before production?

A proof can be prepared when appropriate for the item and project. Check all names, dates, spelling and artwork carefully; production begins after the required details and approvals are complete.

Share the item, quantity, wording, artwork and date needed. We’ll help identify the best next step without promising a method before the material is reviewed.
